Addressing this becomes especially important during weight loss because it is impossible to maintain weight loss without improving our patients’ health in important ways
Wellness means thriving
Wellness medicine can be defined in different ways. Our favorite definition: Wellness is “thriving,” instead of just “surviving.” We believe this means thriving physically, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and socially. In a wider view, this includes other aspects of life including environmental, occupational, and financial health. Wellness for us then means helping our patients to make choices that lead to thriving. The workup then, involves evaluation of multiple, interrelated body systems, in the context of behavior and lifestyle.
Wellness workup may involve:
- Detailed history evaluation, including comprehensive symptom analysis
- Detailed physical examination
- Testing: specific evaluations of blood, urine, saliva, stool, and body composition
- Hormone and nutrition testing
Following the evaluation, we work with you to present a Comprehensive Wellness Plan including:
- Dietary recommendations
- Supplemental nutrition, Nutraceuticals
- Behavioral interventions
- Medications
- Hormone optimization
- Procedural treatments
- Repeat testing
